Six Dursley Runners completed in the Cotswold Sprint Tri-athlon along with another 476 competitors with great results.
As a result of the large numbers racing the race was started in waves with Leanne Kilby going in the 2nd wave. She completed the race with no problems, showing her father Andy Kilby a (virtual) clean pair of heels in the swim and bike but lost all the time on the run, an area where she can undoubtedly improve. Ray suggest by coming along on a Tuesday night!
The third wave included Garry Hughes, Ray Williams, Fred Yearsley and Andy Kilby. Garry Hughes competing for Team Tri Gloucester was unusually of the pace in the run having made up most of the time he lost in the water on the bike. However a run of just over 17 minutes saw him placed 4th overall. Garry was disappointed with the time, Ray was jealous, perhaps Garry needs to come out on a tuesday night as well!
The other Dursley athletes all had good races, and despite a slow first transition, apparently its all about loking good, Fred Yearsley placed first in his age group, with Ray Williams third in his, posting a PB in the process.
Andy Kilby struggled on the bike, which was allegedly the result of his front brake binding, PPPPPP I think is the acronym we are all seraching for here. Mark Waller went off in the final wave and like Ray also posted a pb. Rebecca stayed in bed, over sleeping, clearly her body telling her it wasn't ready!
