Dave Durden was pleased to run well after a heavy cold all week, Tony Wooldridge felt he started too fast, but despite his winter layoff he held Kevin Jackson for quite some time before Kevin broke away.
The team came in 11th out of 20 senor vets teams.
Running for Thornbury Nick Langridge came in 107th (M55) in 00:40:38. Nick should have achieved a top three placing over the league series V55 Cat, as yet Glos AAA have not updated their website to confirm his final placing.
Tewkesbury December 12th
More real cross county was to be found in Tewkesbury with a slippery soggy course, with limited opportunities for overtaking. An indication of the wariness of the conditions was the slow start by the quicker runners. The race was won in 37.17, first Dursley runner home was Dave Durden in 44:05 in 58th, Chris AShworth followed him in in 48:28 (108th) with Nick Landridge (running for Thornbury) just two places behind in 48:40. Roly Hobbs coming in 137th in 52:20
Blackbridge Gloucester 21st November
Real cross county conditions were to be found at this event. Torrential rain, soggy and slippery conditions made for a true test. 3 hardy fools turned out, Kevin Jackson, Roly Hobbs and Dave Durden. Kevin ran well to beat Dave convincingly getting revenge for Stroud and this event last year. Roly came in well and was pleased with his run.

After it inaugural use last year the course was “softened up with the climb up the valley side. Closer studying of the course outline might have persuaded more Dursley runners to attend, in the event only Chris Ashworth made the trip
